Sandy’Ci M

Sandy’Ci M—described by the St. Paul Pioneer Press as “an activist and a whole lot more”—brings over 20 years of experience in community organizing and engagement, performing arts, and real estate management.

As a Hmong-American, emerging Intuitive and Shaman-her-way raised in St Paul’s Frogtown and East side, she has connected with over 50,000 Minnesotans - especially BIPOC, low-income, formerly incarcerated, and/or refugee/immigrant communities - on issues like domestic violence, media racism, government resources, racial equity and police brutality, and voting rights.

Her leadership roles include serving as a State Commissioner on Out-of-School-Time Programming, Voices for Racial Justice Fellow, Creative Community Leadership Institute Fellow, Wellstone Fellow, YouthCARE MN Board Member, and a member of St. Paul’s Renter Ordinance Committee.

In 2016, after years of testing, she was diagnosed with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and, in 2022, she realized her multiple disabilities also stemmed from a concussion-related brain injury. Alongside her existing C-PTSD, Sandy’Ci now manages over 15 symptoms.

After leaving her career in 2016 and being mainly homebound or bed bound for over 7 years, she is now exploring her disability identity, ableism, and invisible and intermittent disabilities—especially among women, BIPOC, and low-income patients who face higher rates of misdiagnosis and medical dismissal.

As an Inclusion Consultant, Sandy’Ci is humbled and excited to contribute her professional skills and her lived experience to help shape a more inclusive, representative Olmstead Plan—especially for adults like her, who acquired disabilities later in life or don’t regard themselves as disabled.
