Current Speaker Series Feature: Anthony Galloway, Partner-Pastor-Presenter-Storyteller

Anthony is offering an “Edutainment” Series designed to push our thinking and our conversations deeper into racial and ethnic consciousness.

Example Keynote Topics:

History Below The Line: how absent narratives lead to dis-conscious discourse

This presentation focuses on how we can often be Ill equipped to deepen our conversations across racial and ethnic lines because so much of the context has been left out of our history books. Explore some key stories, learn from Anthony’s own journey, and find ways to equip yourself for future dialogue.

When no one is watching: racial mental models we try to put behind us

This presentation asks the question, what ways was I socialized racially growing up? Many of us received competing messages about how and what we should think about other racial and ethnic groups. Anthony uses his own lens and reflection on his socialization in this fun and introspective exploration of how we have all been socialized. And ultimately, what can we do about it?

When We Feel, We Change: how experiences can bolster professional development and cultural change work

This presentation explores how we use our collective experiences and how they can shape our professional development. Anthony offers key stories from experiences he has crafted for youth and adults that bring forward experiences that can be applied to educational and professional settings.

Kumbayah? The dissonance between words and action

The connection between our current societal conversations and those of Frederick Douglass in his day are striking. In this talk we will explore the history of Juneteenth, the formation of traditions that repair and uplift African American Communities, and the similarities between modern resistance to ethnic and cultural inclusion in curriculum.
