With 35-plus years in public relations, communication facilitation, and human services, Bob Daniels is reputedly one of very few people in the U.S. and in Europe who specializes in cross-cultural training in public relations and public information between hearing and deaf/hard of hearing/deafblind publics. For more than 15 years he provided services as president and owner of the production and public relations company, Hands On Communications Inc.

Daniels provided communication facilitation training for the California School for the Deaf, Riverside; public relations expertise to NeuStar, Inc; and long-term public relations consultation and training for relay providers in Washington State, California, and Arizona. He provided marketing strategy and training for MCI/Verizon as they launched their new Internet-based relay services. Daniels also provided company personnel with communication and public relations. He has also provided public relations and marketing services to Purple Communications, a relay provider.

At Gallaudet University, Daniels worked within the public relations and development offices before teaching within the English department. Over subsequent years he has facilitated customer service and sensitivity training to various departments including admissions, enrollment, student accounts, campus life, Department of Public Safety, and DEI. He acted as director of university communications at the beginning of Roberta Cordano’s tenure as president of the university.

Daniels is known for his hands-on, hands-down training style that focus a great deal on increased productivity in the workplace. Using his background in public speaking and theatre, he has his participants work on communication efficiency, presentation skills, and guides participants through the discourse process.
