The Dendros Group is working with the Olmstead Implementation Office (OIO) to offer public comment meetings on the draft Olmstead Plan. The Olmstead Plan is a set of goals for Minnesota state agencies. The goals help fulfill the rights of people with disabilities to live full, integrated lives in their communities. Dendros is hosting public comment meetings and OIO is offering a written public comment survey.
We will have seven virtual meetings throughout April. Each meeting is focused on one goal topic area in the plan: Housing, Transportation/Transit, Education, Crisis Services, Health and Safety, Transition (includes waivers), and Employment. These meetings will start with a presentation about the goals within this topic area, then we will have small, facilitated breakout rooms for public feedback on the goals.
The goal of this meeting is to give people an opportunity to make public comments if written public comment isn’t accessible, or isn’t someone’s preferred way to communicate. If written public comment is accessible for you, especially if you don’t have a disability, please consider taking part in written public comment.
We have limited seats available in these meetings. We want to prioritize people with disabilities.
Please sign up for these meetings if you are:
A person with a disability
A person who does better discussing in a small-group meeting format than sharing written comments
Please consider taking the public comment survey (opens April 6th) instead of attending a public comment meeting if you are:
A nondisabled service provider, professional, parent, and/or caregiver
Someone who prefers communication over writing than talking in a meeting
