Maya Larson (she/her) is the Project Manager/Administrative Team Lead with Dendros. Maya enjoys creating effective systems and processes to help her team members do their work well. Maya loves working on projects about disability and/or public health. Writing is also a skill and passion of hers.
Previously, Maya worked for the Minnesota Commission of the Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing where she focused on administration, communications, and board management. Prior work experience includes Wellshare International, a community health nonprofit, and Alliance For Citizen Directed Supports, a disability self-determination nonprofit.
Maya was appointed to the 2024-2025 cohort of the Young Women’s Initiative of Minnesota. She has served on the deafblind committee of the State Rehabilitation Council for the Blind and as a trustee with the Minnesota DeafBlind Association.. Maya received her BA in English and French with honors from Grinnell College in Iowa. During college, she co-founded the Grinnell Disability Alliance to foster more engagement and support for students with disabilities, and worked closely with the Grinnell Disability Resources office on various projects.
Maya is hard of hearing and partially blind and believes her lived experiences as a person with disabilities positively influences her work. Maya enjoys reading, lifting weights, creative writing, and going on walks with her guide dog.
