Over the last twenty years, Jonathan Bucki (he/him) has served many diverse enterprises as a facilitator, planner, strategist and systems-thinker. His appreciative approach and devotion to the organizations he serves allows him to generate high participation in projects and uncover latent insights and energy in groups.

Jonathan has successfully led projects in grassroots organizations with small budgets as well as huge federal agencies. He enjoys the challenges of facilitating collaborations and networks, especially where many interests are engaged in advancing a shared vision or commitment to common outcomes. He has worked with many nonprofits, social enterprises, corporations, public/private partnerships, cross-sector public initiatives, and many other kinds of enterprises.

Social enterprises understand the need for highly participatory processes; often many stakeholders are involved in funding, building and implementing complex plans. Without high participation, any complex planning effort is likely to miss the mark and struggle with implementation, often waste resources and time. However, if an investment in participatory planning is made, implementation is more about coordination than convincing (or mandating)
others to conform to the plan. Often in good participatory processes, implementation begins before the planning ends. Then, adjustments to strategies can be made while planning energies are still engaged. This shortened planning cycle is a critical asset to organizations in uncertain times, which need to quickly adapt to predicaments and changes in the political, social and economic landscapes.

Jonathan is a participatory leader who works to build an organization’s capacity to meet the future with their best thinking. As a consultant, trainer and facilitator, Jonathan brings an energetic, creative and humorous spirit to his work. He has designed change processes, trainings and educational experiences for individual organizations as well as collaborative efforts and associations that wish to increase their capacity.

Jonathan holds a B.A. degree in Health, Faith, and Ethics from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. He also attended L’lnstitut Protestant de Theologie, Faculte de Theologie Protestante in Montpellier, France. He is a Certified Professional ToP Facilitator (CPTF).
