Callie Chamberlain is a practicing birth and death doula who has spent her career asking a simple question: what would it look like to bring that same depth of care to organizations in transition?
As a human rights and social impact strategist, she applies the doula frameworks of holding, guiding and releasing to institutions at their most pivotal moments: launching something new, standing at a threshold, or closing well. Her clients have included the United Nations system, Hearst Media, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Alight Global, the Las Vegas school system, Partum Health, Pharrell's Black Ambition, and New Media Ventures.
Before consulting independently, Callie launched UnitedHealth Group's first Office of Social Responsibility, where she led the health equity and maternal health strategies, directed $22M into communities and helped close $3B in revenue gaps. She founded New Leaders Council Twin Cities, executive produced the award-winning film Refugee Is Not My Name, co-hosted the award-winning podcast Until It's Fixed, and is a United Nations Fellow. She is a National Urban Fellow and holds a master's in public administration from Baruch College, serves on New York City's Commission on Gender Equity, and teaches yoga in Brooklyn.
She believes the organizations most likely to create lasting change are the ones willing to enter the messy, uncertain middle, and she has built a career helping them do exactly that.
